Scrappy Sunday

Wow! What a great weekend—so quiet and crafty! I was able to make a few cards yesterday and I’m feeling great!

I entered the Circle Blog Weekly challenge again. Here are the colors they offered:

I love these! They are so happy and I just had to make the requested Thank You card.

The first step was my inspiration: the sentiment. Off to the internet for a quote! If you haven’t discovered Quotegarden, oh my! I found the perfect quote:

“Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.” Henry Ward Beecher

On to Colour Lovers to plan my strategy. I was able to design a stripe that was perfect. The rest of my papers I did in PSE and printed on my regular printer. The cuts were done on my Imagine. I used the sentiment card from Lacy Labels, the flowers and leaves from WIld Card and the template for my I-top brads from Going Places (pg. 112, Blackout shadow set at 1.2).The flowers are cut at 3 different sizes and layered. The centers are orange rhinestones from I-rock.

I stitched the layers together, using decorative stitching on the “grass” which is embossed with my Cuttlebug. Rather than inking the leaves and flowers with a pad, I used my Copics to highlight them.

The sentiment is printed from PSE, but I cut my tag first on my Imagine. I printed the sentiment on regular paper. I then drew centering lines on the print. I centered my cut over the printing and taped in place with invisible tape. I then ran the whole thing through my printer again and voila a printed sentiment!

I hope you have a scrappy Sunday! Nonna
