Determining RGB values of color

I just love my being able to color match anything in my Imagine by selecting the appropriate R (red), G (green) and B (Blue) values for a color. It is easier than you think, it just takes a little time.

I am participating in a Weekend On-line Swarm and Friday’s challenge was to use these colors:

Friday Challenge

I created my own papers and there were questions, so I decided to share how to find the RGB values of these colors.

In PhotoShop Elements

First, I copied the colors from the hosting forum and saved the palette. I then took the palette into my Photoshop Elements. I opened the file with the colors and went to town. I selected the eyedropper tool from the toolbar. Note the color swatches at the bottom of the bar; one is green and one is blue.

eyedropperbar

With the eyedropper, click on the first color square (the fuschia) The swatch in the color bar now turns from green to fushia. Double click on the swatch that changed color and the color select box opens.

select color1

On the right hand side, there is a column of values. The RGB Values are listed between the circles. Write these down and use in the Imagine.

In Windows Paint:

Open the color samples in Windows Paint. Select the eyedropper from the Tools menu..

paint

Click on the desired color,

edit paintcolors

If color 1 was highlighted, it will change to the desired color. If color 2 was highlighted, it will change. With Color 1 still highlighted, click on the “edit colors” box.

The RGB values will be listed below the slider.

Enjoy creating your own colors and matching your very favorites!

Until next time, Nonna
